Primary Care Paramedic course returns to Tisdale’s Suncrest College campus

TISDALE, SK — Suncrest College is expanding access to its high-demand Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) program with a new Tisdale intake starting in May 2026. This cohort will run for 51 weeks, concluding in July 2027, and will accommodate 12 students. Applications are now open.

“The addition of this intake provides more local students with the opportunity to pursue PCP training without the added barrier of relocation,” said Teri Thompson, Vice President, Academics & Learner Engagement at Suncrest College. “With this program and profession both in high demand, offering it in a smaller community provides an alternative pathway for students who may prefer a different post-secondary experience compared to larger centers like Regina, Moose Jaw, or Saskatoon.”

The PCP program is regularly offered at Suncrest College’s Melville campus and was also delivered in Nipawin during the 2023-24 academic year.

“Following the success of the Nipawin offering, we saw a natural opportunity to bring this program back to the region,” Thompson added. “Training locally helps retain skilled professionals to serve our communities, addressing the ongoing demand for paramedics in rural Saskatchewan.”

Admission is first qualified, first accepted, meaning students should apply as soon as possible to secure a seat. For more information on admission requirements or the program itself, interested applicants should visit SuncrestCollege.ca or make an appointment with one of our advisors by calling 1-866-763-6766.
