Adult Basic Education
Adult Basic Education is an umbrella term that refers to a wide range of services, credit and non-credit programs designed to help adult learners achieve their goals. These goals may include:
- completion of high school: ABE Grade 10, ABE 12 or GED
- gaining prerequisites for further training or employment
- enhancing life skills, independence and self-sufficiency
English as a Second Language (ESL)
ESL classes are offered to immigrants and foreign visitors in groups or on an individual basis.
Trades and Technical Programs
College offers many credit training courses locally for the convenience of adult learners in the college region. Traditional Sask Polytech courses available at Cumberland College include; Business Certificate, Carpentry, Continuing Care Assistant, Early Childhood Education, Electrician Program, Office Education, Practical Nursing and Primary Care Paramedic.
Business and Industry
A wide variety of credit and non-credit courses is offered to develop and enhance the skills of individuals and/or obtain required industry certifications. Past programs have included; Bookkeeping and Accounting, Computer Classes, First Aid Courses, Grain Marketing, Industry Specific Training (Heavy Equipment Operator, 1A Truck Driver Training etc) and Safety Training (WHMIS, TDG, H2S Alive, etc).
Senior Administration (Out of Scope)
Providing leadership, vision and managerial expertise to the entire College. Positions include the President, Director of Programs and Services, Director of Development, Director of Finance and Executive Assistants.
Administration Career
Administrative experts in a wide range of positions including; counsellors, IT analyst & assistant, program area managers, program coordinators & assistants, receptionists and site attendants (evening).
