Train at SERI

The Saskatchewan Emergency Response Institute (SERI), a collaboration between Suncrest College
and Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA), provides FIRST CLASS public safety training guided
by the evolving needs of our stakeholders. SERI provides municipal firefighting education and
training for pre-employment, volunteer and industrial firefighting.

  • FULL-TIME Professional Firefighting Qualifications Program (Municipal)
  • PART-TIME Regional delivery to serve Volunteer Departments Industrial Fire Brigade
    (industrial facilities at mines, refineries, power plants)
  • CUSTOMIZED TRAINING - We work with our partners to create specific training courses and programs.

Suncrest College & SPSA Partnership

Suncrest College and the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) are working in partnership to provide a high-quality training and evaluation system for professional firefighting, volunteer services, and industrial training within Saskatchewan. Through the formalization of a Memorandum of Agreement, we are excited to announce the creation of the Saskatchewan Emergency Response Institute (SERI) at Suncrest College.  SERI is a collaboration of the SPSA’s knowledge and expertise in emergency response and Suncrest’s knowledge and expertise in program development, delivery, and student records.

Advanced Training Grounds

The SERI training grounds have been recently upgraded to allow for dynamic learner-centric
training experiences. With two modern fire trucks, a rescue tower, live fire and smoke props, an
auto extrication area as well as the use of digital training props, learners get hands-on, realistic
training to prepare them for the real world of firefighting.
