Suncrest College welcomes applications for the position of Research Student - Community Inquiry Intern. This is a part-time (32 hours per week for 15 weeks), term position, in Yorkton, SK. The term position starting as soon as possible until May 15, 2026.
The Opportunity:
This position is primarily responsible for assisting with all aspects of the Mitacs Business Strategy project as assigned. The Community Inquiry Intern will create a resource of community groups in Yorkton and area to share with newcomers and other community organizations. The intern will gather information on how newcomer involvement in community organizations affects newcomers’ interest and willingness to remain in Yorkton and area. The intern will work with the Local Immigration Partnership Coordinator for the East Central Saskatchewan Immigration Partnership at the East Central Newcomer Welcome Centre (ECNWC). The intern will attend meetings with community organizations and meet members of local groups to create a resource of community organizations in Yorkton and area that provide services to newcomers that can be shared internally at ECNWC and other organizations in Yorkton and area.
