Suncrest College welcomes applications for a part-time Continuing Care Assistant Instructor to instruct labs and supervise CCA students' clinicals. This is a part-time, term position from September 8, 2026 to June 23, 2027 (280 hour contract), in Melfort, SK.

The Opportunity:

This is a great opportunity for anyone who would like to make an impact on future health care workers, by training upcoming Home Cre / Special Care Aides. The successful Continuing Care Assistant Instructor is primarily responsible for supervising clinical placements in the Continuing Care Assistant program.  Responsibilities include clinical instruction/supervision of students in integrated facilities, personal care homes, or long-term care facilities. Some travel between sites in the Northeast Region will be required.

Requirements:

  • B. ScN is preferable, however a R.N./R.P.N. with diploma is acceptable if the applicant has extensive experience in continuing care and gerontology
  • Education and experience with cross-cultural settings, adult education, continuing care, and gerontology
  • Must maintain a current Registered Nurse designation
  • Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of technology such as MS Teams, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Brightspace, etc. with the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology
  • Demonstrated knowledge of group dynamics and processes, adult learning styles, program content related to CCA Training, and evaluation techniques
  • Skills and Abilities: use a variety of group facilitation techniques and experimental learning strategies and processing skills, including technology in the classroom. The successful candidate will be able to use a variety of needs assessment instruments and techniques and possess ability to develop and administer formative evaluation tools.
  • Must possess a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check are required
